Here's the Story:

I spent 40+ hunts trying to track down this elusive ETX buck. Had a close call with the bow early November only to realize I had left the release in the Honda... About 20 days later and he was coming to a camera just before light and headed back to what I suspected was his bedding area. I eased in a long row of young pines and cleared some yopan mid day. That next morning he stepped into the lane a little over 300 yards. Gave him a MEEEEEP! He turned and I shot. Was a great first deer hunting a property for the first year. Since then I have fallen in love with these wiley ole East Texas bucks. They sure can sharpen your skills. I did not hunt East Texas before the 13” rule came into effect but I certainly am liking what I see these days. The following year I shot a very nice 11 with my bow. I cannot help but think this is the start of something great in the piney woods! Looking forward to many more years of chasing these bucks out at Pine Break Ridge.
