Here's the Story:

This buck was like a ghost. I had only seen him in person once, prior to harvesting him. I sat in the blind for an afternoon hunt and it seemed like I was going to get skunked. The feeder went off, time passed, and there he was. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was in an open field by himself chowing down. Shortly after I spotted him, something spooked him and my heart dropped. I waited and waited, to no avail. I was already thinking of calling it a day, then two young does showed up. He was right behind them. I knew if this buck sensed anything off, he’d bolt away. I slowly brought up my rifle and took the shot. I saw him run and questioned if i’d hit him. I called my buddies and waited for them to show up to let him bleed out. Day light was fading and we found him just in time. He had ran into a creek within the property line, not too far from where he was shot. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I walked up to him. Definitely a very memorable hunt that i’m glad I got to share with two of my good friends.
