Here's the Story:

This was a buck that we had completely given up on hunting. We had pictures of him for a couple of years in only one of the pastures on the ranch. Krista had been trying to shoot him for 2 straight seasons but had never spotted him in person. After rifle season had started and hearing shots from the property next to the only pasture we had pictures of this deer in we just figured that the neighbors got him because all pictures of him had stopped. We had some pictures of other good bucks in another pasture about a mile or 2 away so we decided to try and hunt them. Being the 2nd week of November the deer were very active this particular morning, and we had seen several bucks pushing doe around. After passing on a couple of 4-5 year old deer we noticed a big bodied deer behind a doe going up a hill off to our left. We put the bino's on him and sure enough it was her target buck that she has since named "roamer" since he was so far from where he normally stayed. We made a short stalk on him and got to about 200 yards. She had to wait for a couple of minutes for him to clear a plumb bush thicket, when he finally did and stood broadside, she made a good shot and he nose-dived down the hill. Her first mature buck and a pretty good story to go along with it. "roamer"
