Here's the Story:

My buddy and I had been watching this deer for a few hunts, but never got a shot. We saw him at first light, but he never settled in an opening. After he walked back into the woods, we figured he was gone. A few minutes later he came running out, directly at us. He was blowing and flashing his tail as if spooked at something from the woods. Trailing him by about 25yards was a lone coyote. The deer stopped 70 yards from us not sure whether to run from us or the coyote. I dropped him in his tracks (free hand, no deer stand). Then I spun to shoot the coyote, but couldn’t get a shot off. Was actually okay letting him live as he helped me harvest a nice buck. Thanks ‘Yote!
